Yes. Pham Ngoc Thach General Hospital is a Shi medical examination and treatment facility Social insurance contracted, received health insurance card registered for initial medical examination and treatment at the hospital as well such as valid referral health insurance cards from other health facilities nationwide, applicable to external examination residency and inpatient treatment.
DOCUMENTS YOU NEED TO BRING
- Hard copy health insurance card is still valid or Electronic health insurance card on VssID/ VNeID application level 2.
- ID card with chip, ID card or Household projection is still valid.
- Valid transit paper (if examining from another medical facility).
- Appointment for follow-up visit (if routine doctor's appointment).
- Birth Certificate or Card Child health insurance (applicable to children under 6 years old).

QUY PRESENTATION OF SHI EXAMINATION AT THE HOSPITAL
Get a ticket at the Health Insurance Reception Desk
Present Shi Card (or VssID/VNeID) and ID card at Kiosk or Shi Reception.
Check Health Insurance Card Information
The receptionist looks up and authenticates the above card information Social insurance assessment portal.
Clinical examination at a specialty clinic
Move to the clinic in the order number shown on the screen electronic image.
Perform laboratory tests (if indicated)
Laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging as ordered by a doctor.
The doctor reviews the results and writes a prescription
Receipt of conclusions, prescriptions or indications for admission to the hospital for treatment boarding (if necessary).
Pay the copay and pick up your medication
Pay the co-payment (if any) at the Cashier, collect medicines at the Shi Pharmacy.
TRANSFER FORM
Transit paper is usually valid for use within 10 working days from the date of signing; Particularly, some chronic diseases have a longer duration according to the list prescribed by the Ministry of Health. In case there is no referral, the patient can still receive the examination but the benefit level is applied off-line according to the table above. The hospital supports the transfer procedure to the upline right at the Counter hosting when they are overqualified.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT HEALTH INSURANCE
You can look up your health insurance card information using your chip-enabled national ID card or the VssID/VNeID app right at the reception desk; you are not required to bring your paper card.
Outpatient visits at a facility outside the designated network are not covered by health insurance (except in emergency cases); however, if a visit at a facility outside the designated network results in inpatient hospitalization, coverage is provided at the in-network rate.
It is generally valid for 10 business days from the date of signature; however, for certain chronic conditions, the validity period is longer, as specified in the list issued by the Ministry of Health.
Health insurance only covers the costs listed in the prescribed catalog; patients are responsible for paying the difference for services requested at their own discretion (such as VIP rooms, doctor referrals, etc.).
Present the child’s health insurance card or birth certificate along with the national ID card of the parent or guardian.
Patients must renew their health insurance cards at the Social Insurance Office in their place of residence before coming for a medical examination; if the newly renewed card has not yet been updated in the system, please bring your most recent health insurance payment receipt.
